Zendor to host United Utilities website

Zendor, the Manchester-based interactive and fulfilment specialist, has been appointed by United Utilities to host its corporate website www.uuplc.co.uk for a period of three years.

United Utilities appointed Zendor in April 2003. The contract started May 2003 with ongoing growth and development planned for the next three years.

United Utilities chose Zendor because it wanted a secure, robust, scalable hosting solution and a partner experienced in hosting corporate websites. United Utilities also intends to move the business forward and grow the website and so needed a partner with the capabilities and expertise to work with their current web content company. Zendor’s portfolio of interactive and fulfilment service, which include web design, usability and e-commerce services, will support United Utilities in developing their website as and when required.

The United Utilities website provides comprehensive information on the company; water, electricity, telecom and insurance services; and also allows customers to contact United Utilities with any questions or queries as well as pay their bills online, change contract and address details, set up direct debits and also bypass the call centre (which handles 360 million minutes of calls per month.)

United Utilities’ site (www.uuplc.co.uk) also features an online shopping village with garden centre, home protection and insurance and up to the minute domestic telephone contract offers.
